SEGCA Tours Guilford County Detention Center May

educational opportunity. The Academy is open to
Guilford County residents. Citizens representing
various Board of Commissioner districts and
backgrounds can participate.

On Thursday October 25, 2012 people from
around Piedmont Triad filled the Old Salem Event
Center and gave a new name to the
project formerly referred to as the Sustainable
Communities Planning Project. Piedmont
Together is a perfect fit for so many elements
and hopeful outcomes of the project.

The
following budget amendment was passed on Oct. 5 by
the Guilford County Commissioners with an
affirmative vote. The
amendment approves a recommendation from the county
Open Space Committee and is worded in part as
follows:
"Approve and authorize
staff to take all reasonable and necessary steps to
acquire approximately 234 acres of undeveloped
property....to be used for Open space purposes.
Property connects Hagan Stone Park and Company Mill
Rd. and is located just outside Pleasant Garden town
limits. Total purchase price is $936,000....".

week at camp.
